I have a harsh tip for you today.
It’s something that lots of us – I mean LOTS of us – are doing wrong.
Do you use social media, especially sites like Facebook?
Even if you don’t, I guarantee you have friends or family who do.
And even if you keep your Facebook profile “locked down” so only friends can see it, there are sneaky ways around that (like pretending to be other family members whose profiles aren’t as secure, then cloning their accounts).
The thing that lots of people do that is endangering their families is posting pictures of their kids.
Now, I know how much fun it is to share pictures of your children and family members.
We’ve all done it.
But it’s a HUGE security exploit, that anyone from kidnappers and child predators, to just scumbags who are mad at you after an online argument, can use against you.
If you want to keep your family more safe online, considering using Facebook for unimportant, “fun” things… and leaving pictures of your family members (and especially kids) off it.
(Better to trade those in email with specific people, right?)
That’s just one very minor tip for keeping your family safe… but there is a LOT more you need to know, including how to defend your family members from attack.
This graphic video (and I’m going to warn you, it’s pretty disturbing) explains more.
Our goal here at SG&T is to keep you and your family safe.
This is one way to do that.
